AT A GLANCE
Which MegaFan Controller Do I Need?
The right controller depends on the fan range, number of fans and level of automation required. AirMax, AirWall and AirBeam can use the Basic Controller, Controller 6 or Smart HVLS Controller, while AirSlim uses its dedicated AirSlim M Controller.
What Is The Basic Controller For?
The Basic Controller is the straightforward option for one compatible AirMax, AirWall or AirBeam fan. It provides simple local on/off operation and manual variable-speed adjustment without the need for a larger control system.
How Many Fans Can Controller 6 Operate?
Controller 6 can individually control up to six compatible fans from one colour touchscreen. It includes individual fan selection, variable-speed control, forward/reverse operation, live speed information and RS-485 Modbus communication.
What Does The Smart HVLS Controller Add?
The Smart HVLS Controller is designed for more advanced installations where airflow needs to respond automatically to the building. It can manage up to 20 compatible AirMax, AirWall or AirBeam devices, with temperature-based control, weekly schedules and building-system integration.
Does AirSlim Use The Same Controllers?
No. AirSlim uses its own dedicated AirSlim M Controller. It provides an LCD display, seven preset speed levels, forward/reverse operation and options for wireless remote control and connected functionality.
Â
Can MegaFan Controllers Connect To A BMS?
Yes, depending on the controller and system design. Controller 6 supports RS-485 Modbus communication, while the Smart HVLS Controller is intended for more advanced automation including schedules, sensors and compatible BMS integration.

MegaDrive IP66
Three-phase performance from a single-phase supply.
Many farms, rural sites and older buildings only have single-phase power. Our MegaDrive IP66 solution lets you run our HVLS fans there without a costly three-phase upgrade. The MegaDrive takes a standard 230 V single-phase supply and drives the fan's high-efficiency EC (permanent-magnet) motor directly. It gives you smooth, fully variable speed and forward/reverse operation, including reverse running for winter de-stratification.
Every MegaDrive is programmed by our technicians to suit our fans' EC motors and tested with your fan before dispatch. It arrives ready to install.
Made in the UK
The MegaDrive IP66 is designed and manufactured in the UK to high British engineering standards, with UK-based technical support and parts readily available.
Electronics out of harm's way
Standard EC fan motors keep their control electronics inside the motor, up in the roof space. There they are exposed to heat, humidity, condensation and ammonia, which are common causes of failure in livestock buildings. With the MegaDrive solution, we remove the motor's onboard electronics and control the motor directly from the MegaDrive. All the electronics then sit in a sealed IP66 enclosure, mounted at a convenient, accessible height.
Greater reliability
No sensitive electronics in the harshest part of the building.
Easier servicing
Fault-finding and adjustment at ground level, not at height.
Less downtime
The drive is accessible and quick to check or replace.
Two ways to control your fan
Linked to the Smart HVLS Controller
The MegaDrive connects to our Smart HVLS Controller. You keep automated scheduling, temperature-based control and centralised management of several fans, all from a single-phase supply.
Standalone speed and direction control
For simple installations, the MegaDrive works on its own. The built-in speed knob and Forward / Off / Reverse switch give direct local control. No extra control panel is needed.
Built for wet and demanding environments
The IP66 enclosure is sealed against dust and high-pressure water jets, making it ideal for:
- Dairy barns and milking parlours
- Livestock and poultry housing
- Agricultural stores and machinery sheds
- Wash-down areas
- Damp or humid buildings
- Covered outdoor and semi-exposed locations
